4. SFB1032 Methoden-Workshop

12.12.2016 – 13.12.2016

FAB Lab (Fluorescence Applications in Biology) - Prof. Don Lamb (B03)

Topic: Advanced Fluorescence Methodologies

Date: Mon, 12 Dec - Tues, 13 Dec 2016

Venue: LMU Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Department of Chemistry, Großhadern

Recent developments in fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy make it possible to quantitatively investigate biophysical processes in unprecedented detail. The group of Professor Lamb will give an overview of some of the various advanced fluorescence methodologies that they use in the group. In particular, the workshop will cover the following methods:

Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) and Fluorescence Cross-Correlation Spectroscopy (FCCS)
Image Correlation Spectroscopy (ICS)
Raster Image Correlation Spectroscopy (RICS)
Single-pair Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (spFRET)
Orbital Tracking for Three-dimensional Single Particle Tracking (SPT)

The workshop will start with an introduction to the different methods followed by 1 ½ hour hands-on sessions covering each of the above topics.
